FOUR people were injured in a road accident on a blind bend on the brow of Halsway Hill yesterday morning.

Fire crews from Williton went to the scene on the A358 near Bicknoller and gave first aid until the arrival of the ambulance and paramedics.

Two vehicles were involved, but no-one was trapped in them, and the casualties were suffering from “various injuries”, a spokesman said.

The call came in to the police who asked for the fire service’s assistance at 10.36am. One fire appliance went immediately and then called for a second crew. They set to work giving first aid and making the vehicles safe.

Because of the location of the accident, the road was closed until 11.15am after debris had been cleared.
