AN estimated 12,000 people turned their eyes to the skies above Minehead as the UK’s top aerobatic performers the Red Arrows thundered overhead on Wednesday.
The town’s annual summer festival drew near record crowds who lapped up the free air show that left a trail of red, white and blue in its wake.
Although the popular RAF display team was the star attraction for many, parachutists from the Red Devils team also thrilled the crowds who lined the seafront and sands.
A street market featuring local arts, crafts and food producers, along with sideshows and entertainment helped keep spectators busy on the ground.
