A GROUP of West Somerset young people will be putting on their first show in the Regal Theatre, Minehead, next month, some of whom have never before been on stage.

Minehead Amateur Drama School (MADS) will present the ‘heartwarming and enchanting’ tale of ‘Frozen Jr.’ on Thursday to Saturday evenings, February 5 to 7, including a matinee show on the Saturday.

The ‘magical musical’ features talented young performers aged from eight to 13 years from across the Minehead, Watchet, Williton, and Dulverton areas.

The 28-strong drama school is run by Sabrina Schwery, who said: “We are helping some of our local children to become more confident in all aspects of acting and performance arts.

“Some of the children at our drama school have never stepped foot on a stage due to lack of confidence, so it is really nice to see them come out of their comfort zone and really embrace every moment.

“Seeing how far some of these children have come is so rewarding.”

Frozen Jr.’ brings the beloved story of Elsa, Anna, and their friends to life, telling a story of true love and acceptance between sisters, and expanding on the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa.

When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood.

With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humour, ‘Frozen Jr.’ is said to be certain to thaw even the coldest heart.

Ms Schwery said: “Join us for a truly magical show and watch your talented local children shine on stage in this enchanting musical adventure.

“Do not miss the chance to support our young stars and enjoy a family-friendly show full of joy, music, and adventure.”

Tickets at £10 for adults and £6 for children are already on sale through the Regal box office.
