WEST Somerset sides Minehead and Watchet Town both have goalkeeping problems ahead of tomorrow's home games in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League (3p.m. kick-offs).

Minehead goalkeeper Kyran Wilkins damaged knee ligaments on his return to the side in last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Ilminster in the Somerset Senior Cup.

He suffered the injury in the first half and was replaced by outfield player Martyn Philips who suffered a hefty challenge himself before he, too, was substituted.

Minehead's Free Press correspondent Brian Walder says the club has started with five different goalkeepers in matches this season, with others going between the sticks because of injuries.

Saltford are the visitors to Irnham Road tomorrow and, with Minehead sixth in the table and Saltford fifth, it should be a close game.

Meanwhile, Watchet Town will almost certainly be without their regular keeper Adam Bishop for their home game against Yatton & Cleeve United who have only played three league games this season, winning two and drawing the other.

Bishop suffered a groin strain as Watchet gained their best result of the season last weekend when they beat second-placed Burnham United 3-0 away - scoring all three goals in the second half with young Riley Willis on target twice .

Aaron Deeks and Connor Jeromson, who both missed the game at Burnham, are expected to be added to the Watchet squad.

There is a full programme of matches in the Taunton, Somerset Sunday and Taunton Youth Leagues this weekend with plenty of action in the Somerset Women's and Girls' Leagues.
