JEREMY Scott’s 2025-26 season has completely turned around, kickstarted in fine style by Golden Ace’s victory in the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle.
It was a brilliant performance and, in many ways, almost a replica of her unexpected Champion Hurdle success. One of these days she will be given the credit she truly deserves.
From Newcastle onwards Scott, who trains high up on Exmoor near Brompton Regis, has enjoyed a wonderful run of winners at Wincanton, Chepstow, Exeter, Taunton and Hereford, with horses across the yard stepping up and delivering on the track.
Pilsdon Pen returned to his beloved Wincanton to win for the fourth time at the course. Princess Day made a winning debut at Chepstow, delighting her owners, Gordon and Su Hall,.
Zainy Champ kept his colours clean with a bold front-running success at Exeter in almost biblical conditions.
The yard’s veteran Celtic Art continued his remarkable consistency. Having won at least one race in every season he has been at the yard, he duly added another victory at Taunton, travelling strongly before winning by three lengths. He then followed up impressively in the Seniors’ Hurdle at the same track, winning easily under Chad Bament.
Came From Nowhere produced an excellent performance to win at Hereford, and has since followed up, winning well at Ascot as part of an across-the-card double, and has earned an entry in the Turners Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham. Another Fine Mess and King Of The Lake rounded off 2025 with a double at Chepstow on Welsh National Day.
The momentum has continued into 2026, with Bonza Boy winning at his favoured Exeter, Champagne Chic scoring in the mud at Wincanton, and another weekend double courtesy of Came From Nowhere and Celtic Art at Ascot and Taunton.
It has been a hugely encouraging period for the yard. . .
