SUNDAY saw Minehead Cricket Club host the West Somerset Cricket League’s two cup finals.

The Hinkley Point Cup was contested by Huish Champflower and Cannington, with Huish winning by seven wickets. James Escott was man of the match.

The West Somerset League Cup final saw Bishops Hull beat Bridgwater Pointers, losing just three wickets as they successfully chased 105 runs. Adrian Lock was man of the match.

Throughout the day a variety of junior matches were played, with presentations being made to age group winners by Somerset cricketer Peter Trego, who also presented the main competition awards.

The main sponsors of the day were Jewsons, Beaver Ford and Somerset County Sports, and Minehead Cricket Club expressed thanks to all the West Somerset businesses and individuals for their donations towards fundraising for MIND and STEP mental health services.
