MINEHEAD Cycling Club’s opener was the short but very steep and notorious climb up the Main Road of Porlock Hill.

Local riders Lee Musto (14.16) and Geoff Ware (14.43) set good times but were eclipsed by talented Taunton rider George Watch (PB) who took the win by just one second from Rob Walker (WardPerformanceUK) in 10.25. Janet Hewlett was the best of the local women racers.

After a short break the action switched to the Toll Road. Watch continued his blistering pace (16.02) but was out powered by Arion Oates (PDQ Cycle Coaching) who won in 15.24. Lee Musto (21.04) was again the pick of the local riders, but this time by just one second from Matthew Waddams. Janet Hewlett (25.32) and Bonita Waddams (29.26) were the best of the MCC women.

Organiser Louise Crossman said: "Minehead CC would especially like to thank Red Deer Country Estate Agents for their generous contribution. “
