THE first week of the new season in the Watchet & District Skittles League saw title holders Bell All Stars’ Warren Knight hitting 113 as they defeated Castaways by 71 pins, Clive Perkins topping their scoring with 108.

Last season’s runners up Allsorts scored a narrow 9 pin away win over newly promoted Railway Steamers whose Shane Yaw scored 112 while a consistent Brian Bishop led the visitors scoring with 114.

In a tightly fought game at the British legion between Has Beens and Rebels, Geoff Alllen hit an 8 on the last hand of the evening to tie the match at 542 pins, Mark Clausen 105 and Tom McNoughton 98 leading the scoring.

Bottoms Up Brandon Walsh had an excellent night in the home match with Q C Guys hitting 138 in the 85 pin success, Ryan Willis hit 112 for the Guys and 110 from Chris people led Phoenix Knights to a narrow 4 pin home win against Jack for whom Andy Normabn and Steve Bosley both hit 107.
