MINEHEAD Barbarians 2nd XV came out on top in a thrilling encounter with Morganians, edging a high-scoring game 29–26 at home in Counties Four Somerset South.

The Babas laid the foundations for the victory up front, with a dominant scrum causing the Morganians pack plenty of problems throughout the afternoon. That pressure proved crucial as Minehead battled their way into the lead.

There were debut appearances for Jason Richards and Liam Johnson, while Tyrone Jones and Justin Harris made welcome returns to the 2nd XV.

Despite Morganians pushing hard late on, the Babas held their nerve and dug deep to protect their advantage, eventually pipping the Morgs by three points. This was a proper team effort, built on some serious work up front and plenty of character when it mattered. Jason Richards made a fantastic debut capping it off with the Man of the Match award.
