MINEHEAD Barbarians' hopes of back to back rugby wins were dashed when they lost 27-14 away to Avon in Counties Two Somerset yesterday (Sat).

The Babas, who won against Oldfield Old Boys the previous weekend, lost for the 11th time this season but remain seventh in the table.

Meanwhile neighbours Wiveliscombe were brought down to earth with a bump when they went down 45-20 at home to leaders Cullompton in Counties One Western West.

Wivey, who dropped from fifth to eighth in the table, play away to Plymstock Albion Oaks this coming weekend.
