LAST Friday evening saw Minehead Tennis Club hold their annual dinner at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club, with 68 members attending.

Kate Webb and Damien Reavey of Cranmers Optometrists, who have sponsored the club for several years, were guests and presented two major trophies – the Gibbons Rose Bowl to Chris Richards for service to the club and the Lyons Cup to Sarah Fox for the most improved player.

Flowers and tokens of appreciation were also presented to some members for their efforts throughout the year in various ways.

Thoese included Pat Hill for organising Thursday mornings, Linda Silverman for organising Monday and Friday mornings, Fiona Haigh for Sunday tennis and Pete Bolla and Chris Richards for Saturday afternoon’s highly successful Rusty Rackets programme.

Christine Kowalski and Corinne Rees were also thanked for their efforts with the organising of the evening.
