WEATHER permitting, Minehead will be looking to step up the pressure at the top of the Premier Division in the Somerset Cricket League when they play at home to Bridgwater 3ed XI this afternoon (Sat).

Of course, the weather will be the dominate factor today with rain forecast for much of the day.

The Seasiders are only five points adrift of leaders Long Sutton following their fortunate winning draw at Trull last weekend where they were 86-6 in chasing 125 to win. Gary Bennett continued his rich run of form, taking 3-9 in nine miserly overs, while Braden Taylor finished with figures of 3-31.

Bridgwater, who lost by five wickets at home to Frome last weekend, are lying fifth in the table, but have lost six of their 11 matches.

Minehead 2nd XI, who gained a winning draw at home to Chard in Division Three last weekend, are away to Taunton Deane 3rd XI who are mid-table.

Minehead's second string, who are lying third in the division, are a long way behind leaders Yeovil, who are firm favourites for the title.

Minehead 3rd XI, who play in Division Four of the West Somerset League, are home to leaders Sampford Arundel.

Wiveliscobe, who are second in Division Three of the Somerset League, play at home to Street who are second from bottom
