MINEHEAD Barbarians will be looking to complete the season's double over Huish Tigers when the sides play each other in Taunton in Counties Two Somerset today (Sat), writes Barry Knott.

Tigers were hammered 56-0 when the sides played in Minehead at the end of September. Star of that win was former player head coach Jack Claydon who scored four tries.

While there was no doubt that Claydon was the Player of the Day, it was very much a team display with a number of fine individual performances. In total, Minehead went over for nine tries.

However, the Babas do not travel well and their away record is poor this season with four defeats on the road. Yet they have won all their home matches, piling up more than 400 points.

One of their wins at home was against title favourites Taunton who crashed 41-17 - their only loss of the season.

However, head coach Mick Orton is well aware of the first team's inconsistent performances this season, and with the problems of 'availability' of players for away matches.

Minehead 2nd XV are home to Weston IIIs in Counties Four Somerset South.

Meanwhile, both of Minehead's senior games were called off because of the bad weather last weekend. The firsts were due to play at home to Avon, while the 2nds were due to play at Tor.

Minehead are lying fifth in their division while the 2nds are third.

Wiveliscombe, who remain second from bottom in Counties Western West last weekend, are home to table-toppers Plymstock Albion Oaks tomorrow (Sat, 2.15). The Oaks have a ten-point lead over second-placed Kingsbridge, both sides having played the same number of games.

Wiveliscombe 2nd XV, without a match last weekend, are away to second-placed North Petherton in Counties Three Somerset South. Wiveliscombe are tenth.
