WEATHER permitting, Minehead will be looking to bounce back after their loss at Shapwick and Polden when they play at home to Winscombe in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League today (Sat).
The seasiders have slipped back to third in the table, but are only one point behind second-placed Temple Cloud - with all teams in the division having only five matches remaining.
Winscombe are themselves only one point behind Minehead which means this is a crucial game for both sides.
Minehead went down to a disappointing four-wicket defeat last Saturday at Shapwick who are down in eighth spot. Darren Sperring, however, was in good form with the bat, scoring 65 not out, while vice-captain Dan Bowditch took 3-31.
Minehead 2nd XI, lying fourth in Division Three, are away to South Petherton who are only two places below them.
The runaway leaders and favourites for the title in this division are Yeovil who play away to second in the table Wiveliscombe - with 55 points separating the sides.
Kilve, who top the first division in the West Somerset League, have no game this weekend while Morebath, now second, have the chance to close the gap on the leaders when they play away to strugglers Over Stowey. Third-placed Bagborough visit Stoke St Mary.
In Division Two, leaders Ashbrittle will be out to maintain their unbeaten record when they play at home to Huish Champflower, while Division Three top dogs Watchet, who also have yet to lose, are also home - to West Monkton.
Sampford Arundel, who are setting the pace in Division Four, entertain Ashbrittle's second string.
