MINEHEAD kept up the pressure at the top of the Premier Division in the Somerset Cricket League with an eight-wicket victory over Taunton Deane 2nd XI at home yesterday (Sat).

It enabled the seasiders to move up to second in the table, only 16 points behind the leaders Long Sutton who lost to Minehead the previous weekend.

The Deane, put into bat by Minehead, were bowled out for 97 - which was not a problem for Ian Buchanan's men who lost only two wickets to securing another fine victory.

In Division Three, Minehead 2nd XI's game at Yeovil was 'classed' as a draw even though they were 48-6 after 25 overs in chasing 246 to win in 25 overs.

In the West Somerset League, first division leaders Kilve beat former pacemakers Morebath by four wickets to go 36 points clear at the top of the table.

Second placed Bagborough slipped back after losing by four wickets to Bridgetown.
