MINEHEAD, skippered by Ian Buchanan, stepped up the pressure at the top of the Premier Division in the Somerset Cricket League with a splendid four-wicket away victory over leaders Long Sutton.

Sutton, who decided to bat first, were bowled out for 178 with Braden Taylor taking 4-29 and Gary Bennett 3-37. Joseph Martin top scored for the home side with 33.

Minehead were steered to victory by opener Alastair Harrison who knocked 75. James Hawksworth took 4-28.

Long Sutton stay top but Minehead are now only 23 points adrift, both sides having played nine matches.
