MINEHEAD Barbarians Under 11s were in action again on Sunday morning when they made the trip to play against their counterparts at Wellington RFC.

The playing conditions were tough with the first wet and windy game the team had encountered this season which resulted in a lot of dropped rugby balls by both teams.

Wellington started the stronger of the two sides with some good running and passages of play and their rucking was proving to be a problem for the Minehead team.

However the visitors scrums were their strength and winning lots of ball their ability to pass and run straight with support at every pass saw them score five quality tries.

Wellington did not give up and carried on playing some good passages of play but Mineheads defensive work was outstanding with some fierce tackling by everyone and holding their line kept Wellington at bay and they were only able to score three tries.

The final score was Wellington RFC Under 11s 3, Minehead Barbarians Under 11s 5.

This was a difficult day with conditions at times being tough but the Minehead team yet again played with heart and passion, lots of support and encourage from both players and supporters which once again saw them win the game.

The Minehead Under 11s so far this season are unbeaten, having played three and won three - a great start to the 2025-26 campaign.

At the end of the game the Gladiator of the Day was awarded to Sam Blackmore while the Barbarian of the Day went to Joshua Wyatt.

A reminder that on Friday 24th October Minehead Barbarians Rugby Club are holding a Family Bingo Night in the clubhouse, with doors opening at 5pm and eyes down at 6pm.
