SOMERSET'S Tom Kohler-Cadmore, one of the heroes of the Vitality Blast T20 side which lifted the trophy at Edgbaston back in July, has been signed by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL auction.
The 29 year old right handed batter, who can also keep wicket, joined the Cidermen from his native Yorkshire at the start of the 2023 season and has quickly made a name for himself - not only through his crucial catch against Essex to win the final but he also played some important championship innings to help ensure the team's first division survival.
Since the end of the 2023 domestic season Kohler-Cadmore has been playing in the Abu Dhabi T10 and in one match hit an unbeaten 68 off 33 deliveries.
Kohler-Cadmore will be joining the Royals ahead of the start of the IPL which begins on March 23, and if he remains until the end of the competition is likely to be missing from the Somerset squad for part of the season.
One player who was not picked up in the IPL auction was New Zealander Matt Henry, who enjoyed such a successful season at Taunton this year, suggesting this might create an opportunity for him to return for part of 2024.
