JULY is always the time of the year when horses at Jeremy Scott’s yard at Higher Holworthy Farm near Brompton Regis, return from their holidays, get shoes on and start their steady journey to fitness.

Jeremy said: “Our excellent team has been busy riding the horses round the quiet lanes of the Brendon Hills, and many thanks to our long suffering neighbours for tolerating the echoes of horse shoes.”

“We said goodbye and good luck to a couple of team members; however, we are welcoming a couple of new faces who have quickly become integral members.

“We are opening the yard up for an afternoon as part of National Racehorse Week on Friday 29th August 1.45pm -3.45pm.”

There will be some delicious cream teas available as well as an opportunity to have a wander around the yards.

Leah is back to do a demonstration on Equine Dentistry; our foals will be happy to meet everyone and probably there will be a physio demonstration.

Book in through National Racehorse Week so we keep track of numbers and we cannot wait to meet you all. We are increasing our numbers so please book in!

Jeremy and Camilla bought a couple of store horses at the sales in Ireland and we have a few up and ready to run this season, so please get in touch if you are interested in having a look at anything in particular.

Two of the horses for sale are - 2021 B g Passing Glance ex So Long - This good looking full brother to Dashel Drasher has grown and strengthened this summer. He will probably take time to get to the racecourse as most of the family normally do. 2022 B g Soldier Of Fortune ex Screaming Rose - A lovely gelding bought from the Tattersalls Derby Sale. He is now being ridden away here at Holworthy.
