THE Seniors at Minehead & West Somerset Golf Club started their week with a two person Texas Scramble when, in spite of the windy conditions, Tim Tennant and Graham Stone returned a nett 65 to win the event. Second place with 66 went to Tony Connolly and Graham Troman while Mark Ruttley and John Burrows were third on countback with 68.

On Friday a 4BBB was played when setting the pace and winning the competition with a nett 45 were Graham Troman and John Burrow. Rob Poirrier and Bob Arthington claimed second place with 44 with Mark Ruttley and Chris Durman third on countback with 43.

Meanwhile, the fifth and final round of the Marshall Cup has been held. The conditions provided a challenge making it difficult with players having to contend with a stiff breeze.

The winner of Round 5 was Richard Austwick who shot a nett 64. However, the overall winner of the cup was Doug Hayhoe.
