AS Autumn progresses, there have been plenty of away matches for Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club Ladies Section.

A league match against the Mendip Golf Club saw Minehead defeated 6-1 on a tough course.

This was followed by a friendly match, which included some new members against Vivary Park in the middle of Taunton. Minehead suffered a narrow defeat of 1 ½ to 2 ½, which was played as pairs on a relatively short course with plenty of trees.

Their final event of 2026 was a Wessex match at home against Yeovil. With several key players on holiday, Minehead were forced to field a largely inexperienced team, but managed a resounding win of 5-2.

At home the ladies played the RNLI Stableford; each participant giving a donation in their entry fee to the afore mentioned charity. The winner was Deano Carlin (10) with an impressive score of 35 off her handicap. Sarah Hill (21) was hot on her heels, scoring 35.
