OAKE Manor’s golfers played a Stableford Competition on Saturday for the King Fisher Cup. The results were close with Gary Nation winning the trophy on count back from Martin Rivers, both players scoring 44 points. Andrew Thompson was third in division 2 with 43 points.
David Rossillo won division 1 with 43 points while Marc Holloway came second with 41 points and Neil Blackmore was third with 39 points.
Michael Tourle won the Sunday Stableford, scoring 40 points with Bob Tye in second place with 39 points while Matthew Bright came third with 37 points.
The Ladies played a Stableford on Sunday for the Grannies Goblet, the winner had to have blood related grandchildren. Janet Howe was the clear winner of the Goblet with 41 points, Karen Potter came second with 37 points while Amanda Mather was third with 36 points.
The Seniors played a 3 ball Texas Scramble on Monday. The winners were Patrick Francis, Ian Ramus and Robert Sanders with nett 55. In second place with nett 57 were Mark Howard, Christopher Mann and Kenneth Pitcher while Mike Amos, Kevin Court and Nigel Haigh came third, also with nett 57.
On Tuesday the Ladies played a Stableford for the Grandmothers Trophy where the winner has grandchildren either blood related or inherited. Yet again the winner was Janet Howe with 42 points, the first time ever someone has won both grandmothers trophies in the same year.
Second in division 1 was Bev King with 41 points while Nancy Marshall came third with 40 points. Julie Cross was the division 2 winner with Mary Woods in second place with 39 points and Daphne Priddy third with 38 points.
Neil Blackmore won the Wednesday Midweek Stableford, scoring 39 points. The next 3 players all scored 38 points but on countback Jack Jones came second and Marc Holloway was third.
