WE MOVED to the seven winner mark for the season thanks to Final Entry winning at Newton Abbot last week and we had two seconds on the evening as well.

Final Entry was winning for the second time in his career over hurdles and the application of the first time visor did the trick and helped him concentrate.

On the same evening, Affection made her hurdling debut in the juvenile contest. It turned into a bit of a farce of a race and with only three runners nobody wanted to make the running. We ended up leading and our filly in fairness, did well despite being very green.

She was headed approaching two out and looked booked for third before a rival ran out at the second last flight. We picked up some nice prize money and she will have learnt a lot from the experience.

Walkin Out also made her stable debut and ran well in the handicap chase over 2m5f under Sean Bowen. She looked to be in top gear from the early stage but to her credit she kept galloping and stayed on strongly to the line. She looks capable of winning off this mark probably stepped up in trip.

YAt Uttoxeter Grand Clermont ran a good race to be fourth in the Summer Cup. It was a very competitive races and at times it was quite rough during it. We were bumped a couple of times and lost our position a bit leaving the back straight but he recovered well and galloped all the way to the line to be a never nearer fourth. He would have been closer but for the interference but it was a good effort off a mark of 124. He is a very honest and genuine little horse and there is lots of fun to be had with him going forwards.

American Sniper showed up well for a long way but did get quite tired in the last three furlongs. He probably is better over a slightly shorter trip so we may look to come back next time.

This week on Tuesday, Thetype Istitle will make her stable debut in the bumper at Stratford with Rian Corcoran on board. She has been placed in Irish point to points and has settled in well since arriving. This looks a good starting point although she may appreciate hurdles and over further in time.

On Wednesday, we run Show Your Hand and Purple Owl in the two divisions of the maiden hurdle with Jack Tudor on board. Show Your Hand is making his hurdling debut after finishing runner up in two bumpers. He has schooled well at home and I am looking forward to getting him started over hurdles.

Purple Owl returned to form at the track last time to be a close second. A repeat of that run should see him in the mix once again.

Looking further ahead to the weekend we have entries at Market Rasen on Sunday which include Savanna Storm and recent runner up at the track Masterius. Keep checking the Daily News on the website for all the latest on our stable runners.

It is hard to believe we are already entering July this week and some of the horses will soon be coming in from their summer holidays!
