RICHARD Sawatzki from Minehead has won the 2015 UK National 9.50 Drag Bike Championship for the fourth time in his racing career.

The championship was contested over ten rounds split between Santa Pod Raceway in Bedfordshire and the Shakespeare County Raceway Warwickshire.

He also won the Avon Park International Racing Association series and was runner-up in the Santa Poi Racing Club championship.

Richard said his season did not start very well as he struggled to find the consistency, both in himself and his bike, which is so important in the sport.

But by mid-season things had turned around and he won the Summer Nationals at Santa Pod and had another win at Shakespeare County Raceway.

And other events saw him open up a points lead which could not be beaten going in to the national finals, the last event of the championship.
