MINEHEAD have signed another of Alcombe Rovers’ players - central defender Luke Badcock.

He played in Minehead’s first pre-season friendly against Street at home on Saturday, July 4, which Minehead lost 3-1.

Minehead boss Lee Todd has already signed three other players from the Taunton Saturday League club - defender Mikey Graddon, left back or winger Cullum Bruford and striker Nathan Collins.

Both Bruford and Collins played in the warm-up game against Street for Minehead who also included the 16-year-old Jake Wyre.

“I was pleased with the workout - particularly our fitness levels,” said Todd. “They were a strong, physical side.”

Minehead were 1-0 down at half-time but Ollie Morris netted a goal to put the home side back on level terms in the second half before the Jewson League side ran out winners with two more goals.

Meanwhile, Minehead continue their build-up to the new season with another friendly at home to Combe Martin on Saturday, July 11, with a 2p.m. kick-off. Most of their warm-up games are at home.

Other friendlies include: Wed, July 15 home v Staplegrove (7.30); Sat, July 18 home v Minehead Legends’ XI (3.00); Tues, July 21 away v Ilfracombe Town (7.30); Sat, July 25 home v Wellington (3.00); Wed, July 29 home v Bishops Lydeard (7.30).

Minehead will again be playing in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League where they finished a disappointing tenth last season.
