CRAIG Carr will almost certainly be carrying on as manager of Minehead next season.
The 45-year-old Carr, in charge of the side for his first full season, said: "I have been in talks with the club about my plans for next winter.
"My intention at the beginning of this season was to field a side which would compete. In the past we had struggled to put out teams - and regularly lost four or five nil.
"We've been a bit naive at times - we've lacked experience, particularly when some of the more senior players have been unavailable."
Carr, who had a long playing career with the likes of Minehead, Bridgwater, Street and Yeovil Town, added: "I have been in football long enough to know what we need.
"It is not always about winning when you have a group together without a playing budget. On the whole we have made progress this season. We have only struggled when some of our experienced players have not been available, mainly through work commitments.
"We know where we can improve. We will aim to address this during the close season."
Minehead made a good start to this season but have slipped down the table after defeats against some of the top sides in the first division in the Uhlsport Somerset County League in recent weeks. Minehead are likely to finish in a mid-table position.
"The main thing is that we have been able to compete against the top teams even though we may have lost," said Carr. "With more experience in the side the youngsters will be able to flourish. We have been heading in the right direction."
Minehead’s long season does not end until they play away to Clutton in the league on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5.
