SATURDAY saw Dunster Youth FC take two teams (pictured) to Countess Wear in Exeter for a six-a-side tournament which they won last year.

Playing in different groups, the Dragons and the Stags both started brightly and progressed to the quarter-finals after coming second and third.

In a repeat of last year, the two teams faced each other in the last eight, and after both normal and extra time the sides remained deadlocked at 0-0, with the Dragons coming out on top in a penalty shootout.

They faced Exeter Panthers in their semi-final and had to come back from a goal down to win 2-1.

In the final they faced a strong team, The Uffy Boys, who had previously beaten them 2-0.

Half-time arrived goalless, with Dunster beginning to frustrate their opponents, and the second half saw both teams play some good football, with chances at either end.

And it was Dunster who broke the deadlock, playing a string of quick short passes which ended with what proved the winner and clinching the tournament for the second year running.
