THE West Somerset Cricket League gets underway this coming Saturday, April 26, with only five matches - with a full programme of games the following weekend.
Winsford, runners-up in Division Two last summer, kick off their season with an away fixture against East Huntspill in Division One on the opening day of the season. Huntspill finished sixth last season. In the only other first division game, Bridgetown (fifth last summer) entertain Morebath (seventh).
Churchinford, who failed to win a game in the top flight last season, begin their bid for a return to Division One with a home game against Crowcombe. Roadwater are home to the reigning third division champions Stogumber. In the only game being played in Division Three, Cutcombe are home to Carhampton.
Meanwhile, Ashbrittle begin the defence of their first division championship with a home game against Bridgetown the following weekend. Ashbrittle lost only two of their 18 league matches last season and finished 86 points clear of runners-up Bagborough who open the season with a home game against East Huntspill.
Watchet begin life in Division One after winning the second division with an away game against Brompton Ralph while Kilve entertain Morebath. Winsford, runners-up to Watchet, are home to Over Stowey.
