ADRIAN Sproston and Rowan Keyte both hit centuries for Stoke St Mary’s second string in their 127-run home victory over Taunton Deane 6th XI in Division Four of the West Somerset Cricket League.

Sproston knocked 164, which included 20 fours and seven sixes, and Keyte 114 not out, with 13 fours and one six, the pair sharing a 194-run third wicket stand. Stoke scored 340-3 while the Deane replied with 213-7.

Stogumber 2nd XI have a 37-point lead at the top over Morebath following a five-wicket victory over their Brompton Ralph counterparts who scored 124 all out with Daniel Church knocking 82. Sam Batten top scored for Stogumber with 57.

In the third division, leaders Minehead 3rd XI beat FItzhead 2nd XI, who were shot out for 50, by seven wickets.

Ashbrittle 2nd XI kept in touch with the top two teams with an 82-run home victory over Buckland St Mary & Bishopswood. Choosing to bat first, Ashbrittle scored 245-9 in their 40 overs with Chris Hill hammering 80 with 16 fours.

St Mary struggled with the bat, being bowled out for 163 with L Rich scoring 41 while Andy Hill took 3-31.

Over Stowey 2nd XI failed to fulfil their fixture against Stoodleigh who collected 35 points to stay second in the table while Wiveliscombe 2nd XI also conceded their game at Carhampton.
