THE 2026 Somerset County Cricket Club annual church service will be taking place at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Sunday, June 21, ahead of day three of the Rothesay County Championship match against Warwickshire.

The Brian Rose Gates on the Brewhouse Theatre side of the ground will open at 9.20am to allow those wishing to attend the service which will be starting at 9.30am. Those attending the service will sit in Block One of the Somerset Stand.

The service will be led by the Somerset Club Chaplain Rob Walrond and the speaker this year will be Bishop Mark Rylands, who is a more than useful cricketer who has twice produced match winning performances leading two different Dioceses to victory in the Church Times Cup.

Mark now lives in Taunton and is a regular visitor to watch Somerset at the Cooper Associates County Ground. It is hoped that as many Somerset members and supporters as possible will come along and help to make this another special cricketing occasion.

Somerset CCC memberships or matchday tickets are required to gain entry to the church service.

The Somerset church service will be a part of the Festival of Red Ball Cricket which is taking place for the duration of the match.

Red ball cricket is the quintessential format of the game and throughout the Warwickshire County Championship match the club will once again be celebrating the traditions, heritage and everything else that makes multi-day cricket so special.

For the four days of the match Somerset will be championing and shining a light on the long form of the game with numerous activities taking place at various locations throughout the game.

Put the date in your diary and make sure that you join the club for a celebration of the summer’s greatest sport.
