MINEHEAD will be looking to bounce back after losing their last two matches when they play at home to Wembdon 2nd XI in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League on Saturday, July 18.

Minehead have slipped down to sixth in the table after losing their latest high-scoring game away to Lympsham & Belvedere by five wickets.

Opener Ian Buchanan scored 61 with 12 fours in a run-a-ball innings while skipper Dan Bowditch hit 45 as Minehead piled up 262 all out.

Jamie Howson steered Lympsham to victory with 111 not out while Sam Mccrea scored 57, the pair putting on 128 for the fifth wicket. Harry Tudball removed the top three batters to finish with 3-37.

Wembdon are lying one place below Minehead, having won only three of their 11 matches.

Meanwhile Minehead 2nd XI, struggling one off the bottom in Division Three, also have a home game - against third-placed Shaftsbury Road.

Wiveliscombe, who play in the same division, are also home - to table-toppers North Curry who have lost only one match and have a 37-point lead at the top of the table. Wiveliscombe are only one place above the drop zone.

Minehead A XI, who have a 106-point lead at the top of the third division in the West Somerset League, entertain Buckland St Mary and Bishopswood.

Minehead have chalked up nine victories this season while Buckland, although in fifth spot, have yet to win a match.
