HAVING lost against leaders Taunton Deane 2nd XI, Minehead will almost certainly have to win all of their remaining four games in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League to stand any chance of promotion.

Minehead, who have slipped to sixth in the table, are now 40 points behind second-placed Lympsham & Belvedere, both teams having played the same number of games.

Minehead play away to Castle Cary, one place below them in the table, on Saturday, August 8, while the Deane are involved in a top of the table clash at home to Lympsham.

Minehead 2nd XI, bottom of Division Three, play at home to fellow strugglers Wiveliscombe with both teams still having four more matches to play.

Minehead have won only two of their 14 matches this season while Wiveliscombe have notched four victories, although they lost by 186 runs away to Taunton Deane 3rd XI last weekend.

North Curry, who have a 32-point lead at the top of the table, entertain fifth-placed Middlezoy.

Minehead A XI, who have a massive 94-point lead at the top of Division Three in the West Somerset League, are home to Fitzhead’s second string who are languishing at the bottom of the table, having won only one game.

Minehead are unbeaten and will be chasing their 12th win of the season.
