MINEHEAD Cricket Club juniors were in action again in the Taunton & District Youth League over the weekend..

The Under 11s were at home against Wiveliscombe in West B and performed much better than their previous match to win by 21 runs.

Going in first Minehead batted sensibly with better running between the wickets and good shots to the boundary.  The key though was in only losing four wickets which meant they closed their innings on 250-4 after 16 overs. There were boundaries for Heath, Harry, Noah (2) and Chester.

For Wiveliscombe Sam took 3 wickets in his four overs.

In reply the visitors started slowly but improved as Neville struck three boundaries and the second pair didn't lose a wicket.

The last pair managed to add 12 runs as the innings closed on 229 for nine with the wickets shared between Josh and Riley who claimed two each and one apiece for Heath, Noah, Jess and Jonah plus a run out. Minehead collected three points for their victory.

The Under 13s were due to play Ilminster in the 11 a side division but were left disappointed as their opponents failed to turn up on Friday. Consequently, Minehead are awarded three points.
