ROBERT Hill hammered 126 for Ashbrittle 2nd XI in their 129-run home victory over Wiveliscombe 2nd XI in the third division of the West Somerset Cricket League.

Hill’s 77-minute knock included 22 fours and three sixes as Ashbrittle made 306 all out with Chris Hill scoring 46 and Andy Hill 32, while Warren Heyns took 4-42 and Sam Milsom 3-75.

Robin Stutt-Hannaford hit 56, Jack Warren 38 and Ian Pincombe 31 not out as Wiveliscombe made 177-9 in reply, with Andy Hill taking 4-21 and Michael Hill 3-28.

Meanwhile, top of the table Minehead 3rd XI maintained their splendid start to the season with a shaky four-wicket victory against Over Stowey.

Stowey opted to bat first but not one of their batters managed doubled figures against the bowling of R Krishman (5-13), J Dyer (3-6) and S Anilkumar (2-24).

G Varhese (15) and F Penny (17) kept Minehead in the game before Krishman (12 not out) knocked the winning runs.

Stogumber 2nd XI and Roadwater’s second string share top spot on 160 points in Division Four following decisive victories.

Stogumber piled up 306 in beating East Huntspill by 132 runs with J Hayward scoring 145 not out with 19 fours and five sixes while opener S Batten knocked 77. Huntspill were all out for 173 with A Patel 127 not out, with 27 fours, while H Laage took 5-34 and Hayward 3-16.

Roadwater romped to a nine-wicket success against Morebath who were bowled out for 90 with Peter Grabham scoring 51 not out while Luke Gould took 6-23. Mark Bishop (32) and Ben Moody (40) were both not out for Roadwater.
