BAGBOROUGH were at home to Bridgetown on Saturday afternoon in the top division of the West Somerset Cricket League - and won by four wickets.
After being put into bat the visitors lost opener Kenny Cross cheaply, before Ben Luxton and Pete Matravers came together and started to build the innings.
The second wichet pair added 89 before Matravers was claimed by Paul York-Smith for 48 which came off 51 balls with nine 4s and one 6.
Luxton saw the total onto 105 when he was run out for 36 after which Rob Stevens made 22, Henry Bond made 17 and James McDermott hit 17 as Bridgetown were all out for 183 in the 32nd over. For the home side Blake Jones was the pick of the bowlers ending with four for 22 from 4.2 overs.
When Bagborough replied opening bowler Tom Gliddon struck twice with the score on four removing both Jed Glanvill and Dan Raffill. The bowler then accounted for Joe Osman and with the scoreboard showing 22 for three, the hosts looked to be in trouble.
However Tom Eve and Craig Swinburne then came together and after steadying the innings started to build the total. The pair saw Bagborough onto 142 when Swinburne fell to the bowling of Dan Cross for 65 which came off 52 balls with eight fours ands four 6s.
Eve then followed with the total on 155, having made 72 off 63 balls with 14 fours and one 6 and when Martin was out soon after Bagborough looked to be wobbling.
However Jones, with an unbeaten 13, and Ross Van Aswegan who remained unbeaten on 18 stayed together to see the home side to 189 in the 27th over and victory by four wickets.
For Bridgetown Gliddon claimed three for 65 while Cross ended with three for 24.
