WATCHET Bowling Club hosted their annual Ladies Triples Tournament on Wednesday, July 8.

Lady bowlers from all over the county were invited to take part in the event.

It was a very warm day, but the 36 ladies who entered still enjoyed bowling throughout the day, stopping for a sociable lunch and afternoon tea.

The tournament is sponsored by the Webber family and Mike Webber presented the trophy to the winners Little Mix: Gill Groves, Lisa Dart and Marguerite Nichols from Wellington Bowling Club.

Meanwhile, two of Watchet Bowling Club ladies, Kay Knight and Kathy Warner, reached the finals of the National Ladies Senior Pairs competition.

The final was held at Taunton Deane Bowling Club on the 4th July. Unfortunately, the Watchet ladies suffered a loss, 17-11 but it was a great game, enjoyed by all, competitors and spectators alike.

The clubs' ladies and men’s teams continue to progress in their various league and county competitions.
