WITH the halfway stage of the season reached a knock of 101 from Bell All Stars' Warren Knight helped them to a 25 pin home win against lowly placed Hungerford Harriers to consolidate their five point lead at the top of the Premier Division in the Watchet & District Skittles League. Cliff Matravers hit a top of the alley 103 for the visitors.
Allsorts remain second after Shane Coxhead knocked an outstanding 129 in the close six pin away victory over Three Ferrets who had Martyn Baker scoring 109. Q C Guys' Mike Stout and Pete Cowling both hit 110 as they got back to winning ways with a 24 pin home success against Castaways. Nick Lane scoring 109 and 110 from skipper Gus Milton led Jack to a 20 pin away over Bottoms Up. Ben Langdon was top of the alley with 114.
In Division A Brad Lock with a score of 95 helped Rebels extend their lead at the top after running out 16 pin winners over third placed Williton Club, Alan Bland hitting a notable 114 while Mark Clausen with 115 got Has Beens back on track as they defeated Railway Steamers at home by 44 pins, Jim Frewin hitting 97 for the visitors.
In Division B leaders Barn Owls suffered only their second defeat of the season this week after Andrew Duffield hit 121 for Footy Fockers in their ten pin home victory, Owls Dean Marchant knocked 127 for the visitors while 91 from Quantock Stags' Graham Bolt moved his side into third place after their narrow four- pin victory over Badgers whose Sean Gale and Brandon Johnson hit 92 apiece. Wyndham Pinheads' Andy Pegg scored 101 as they overcame the challenge from Dizzy’s Boys running out 20 pin winners, Gary Walsh joint top of the alley with 101.
