THE minis and juniors section at Minehead Barbarians Rugby Club are buzzing with excitement to be back training for the new season.

Training resumed at the beginning of this month but have no fear anyone who would like to attend is very welcome to go along and join at any point of the season.

Anyone aged from six to 18 years old is welcome to go along along to training and matches are played every Sunday from 10:30 am.

Girls aged 11-16 can also train on a Wednesday evening separately.

Barbarians minis and jJuniors chairman Dick Tucker said: "We’ve had 131 youngsters here at the Tom Stewart Field this past Sunday and it’s great to see so many back enjoying themselves playing rugby.

“We have the cheapest membership in Somerset and once you are a member training is free. New for this season is our very own RFU club tackle champion who’s had specialist RFU training and is working across all our age groups to help assist our coaches deliver new lower tackle heights, which is a real bonus for us.”

The Chairman added: “I expect numbers to grow again this weekend, but we are always looking for new players especially in the teenage age groups so if anyone would like more information send me a message [email protected] .”
