FOUR teams successfully applied to join the Taunton Saturday Football League at its annual meeting this week.
They were Alcombe Rovers, who dropped out only last year, Dunwear, Kingstown Knights and Huish Sports. The league is planning to interview one more team, AFC Newmarket from Bridgwater, next Monday.
The league is expected to consist of three divisions again this winter, with 12 sides in the Premier Division and first division and 13 in Division Two, making 37 in all.
Westonzoyland, who finished third in the premier division last season, have withdrawn while White Eagles and Wembdon pulled out during the winter.
“It’s great that we will have more sides competing next season,” said secretary Gary Best. “It’s always disappointing when you lose teams and they are not replaced."
