YOUNGSTERS in Watchet travelled across continents as part of celebrations to mark the Chinese New Year.
The official start of 2014 - the year of the horse - is today (Friday) but early years pupils at Knights Templar First School enjoyed their festivities earlier this week.
Reception class children were joined by youngsters from neighbouring Little Vikings Nursery for a fun music afternoon.
And the event let them travel from England - where they enjoyed some country dancing - to Spain for a touch of flamenco and onto Africa for a drumming session.
The journey ended in China where the children welcomed in the new year with the traditional dragon.
"Everyone was able to choose their mode of transport - plane, train boat or whatever," said reception class teacher Katie Chester.
"They dressed up for the Chinese part and they were also allowed to revisit any two of the countries.
"Everyone seemed to love it and they all enjoyed themselves."
