SIR — I just wanted to say how lovely it was to see all the youngsters thronging the streets of Alcombe and Minehead last weekend and the weekend before. Laughing and chatting, they were a pleasure to watch. I gathered it was a rugby tournament in Alcombe and football in Minehead. I sat in the garden, listening to all the shouting and cheering. It made me smile and, in the end, I just had to get up and see what was going on, only to find the last game just finishing. It must have taken a lot of organising, with smart coaches ferrying the players to and fro, in my opinion, very worthwhile and rewarding. Next year, I will brush up on my knowledge of rugby and be out there watching! Mrs J Bosson, The Shires, Alcombe.
