Yeovil is preparing to become a ghost town on Saturday as over 13,000 people head to Villa Park to support Yeovil Town as they take on Stevenage Borough in the final of the FA Umbro Trophy.
Tickets have been selling well for the last three weeks with the expected last minute rush happening over the last couple of days.
With tickets for children and concessions priced at only £1, parents all over the area have been grasping the opportunity to take all the family to one of the Premier League's most prestigious grounds.
Chairman and Chief Executive John Fry was more than pleased with the response to the final. "I'm delighted we are taking such a big crowd to Villa Park," he said. "I just hope we can do the town proud and bring back the trophy with us.
"The Town Council are laying on a civic reception for the players, wives and club officials at Westland's Sports and Social Club next Monday and it would be nice to have the trophy with us to parade.
"We are also indebted to the Western Gazette for sponsoring an open-topped bus which will be parading around the town and some local schools from 12 noon on Monday.
"Gary Johnson and the team have worked so hard for this day, which will be the biggest in the club's history, and I'm sure the town will get behind them in the noisiest possible way at Villa Park."
The club will also be unleashing it's new mascot "The Jolly Green Giant" which was dreamed up by manager Gary Johnson and the Clarion's Fat Harry (who incidentally is not inside the monster mascot) at Villa Park. However the club has urged the "GianT" not to get involved in any fisticuffs like one of his friends Cyril The Swan did recently.
"That's the sort of publicity we don't want," said John Fry.
Hundreds of cars, mini buses and coaches will be traveling to Villa Park and the M5 is expected to be a mass of green and white as fans make the two and half hour journey to the Midlands.
Supporters are encouraged to get to Birmingham as early as possible as there is bound to be some traffic congestion in and around the stadium.
The town center retailers have not been slow to get behind the team as well with the whole of the Quedam Centre decked out in green and white and several really stunning window displays being created for the team.
Several members of the first team squad were at the Green and White Supporters Club sales unit in the Quedam last week, as our picture shows, helping to sell flags, scarves and tee shirts to adoring fans.
For those supporters who have not purchased tickets by today (Friday), the ticket office at Huish Park will have closed by now. However tickets will be on sale at Villa Park at specially designated turnstiles so it's still not too late to get behind the Glovers in this their greatest ever day out.
