Rokbuild Yeovil has achieved the Investors in People Standard, a national award requiring organisations to demonstrate ability to maximise staff potential and recognise their contribution towards continued success.
The company employs 122 people from its office at the Abbey Business Centre and is part of a network of offices under Rok Property Solutions plc.
Area director Chris Hyde said: "This is a notable achievement in an industry that does not always have such a positive image.
"By utilising the principles of Investors in People, colleagues have improved team relationships and feel more valued within the organisation.
"Our appraisal system has improved, with colleagues seeing real outcomes from their personal development reviews."
Investors in People is operated locally by Business Link Somerset and supported by Somerset Learning and Skills Council.
Stuart Annett of Business Link Somerset, said: "Rokbuild Yeovil is a clear example of a company that has invested enough in its staff to know that they have a clear idea of what is going on around them, and a vision of the big picture.
"Instead of finding people slavishly sticking to the management line, the personnel at Rok feel free to express the reality of their own experiences as they interact with others, which is an attractive and enlightened way to run a business."
