VOLUNTEERING charity Engage has again been celebrating the contribution volunteers make in their communities across West Somerset and Taunton Deane.

Their Star Volunteers for 2017 in both areas were named at award ceremonies last week, timed to coincide with National Volunteers Week.

The West Somerset ceremony was held at Minehead’s Beach Hotel last Friday morning. The winners included James Waller, who volunteers for Home-Start West Somerset, the Exmoor Community Bus Association and Holnicote estate’s Healthy Hedgerows Project volunteers.

Mike Maddison, of Stogursey, and Blue Anchor Community Toilets CIC also received recognition.
