DOUBTS about the British weather were dispelled when Watchet entertained their twinning counterparts from St Renan in Brittany.

The sun broke through and the doors opened at the Phoenix Centre for a ‘French Breakfast’.

Watchet Co-op’s croissants and French sticks were much appreciated, as was clear when stocks had to be replenished mid-morning.

Funds raised will go towards promoting Watchet and West Somerset when the 40th anniversary of the towns’ twinning is celebrated next year.

Twinning aims to promote friendship and understanding with exchange visits and cultural ties. New members would be welcomed, especially younger and outward looking people with a sense of adventure.
