Re the letter by Jim Butterworth (Free Press October 20), I support his views one hundred per cent.

I think it is outrageous that the disabled and infirm should have to negotiate concrete steps and a stony beach just because of the mean and selfish attitude of a few of the hut owners.

This footpath between the chalets has been in existence for many years. I myself have been using it since the early 1970s and will continue to do so and hope that common sense will prevail.

As Jim says: “It is our footpath and we have rights over it.”

We should all continue to use it and not be intimidated by a few small-minded individuals.
