SIR — As co-owners of Minehead’s old hospital, we were delighted to see and meet so many people at the public meeting in the Beach Hotel last week.
As the meeting made clear, the redevelopment work will of course take time, dedication, and investment from a variety of sources.
In addition to your excellent report of the event, we would just like to elaborate a little and clarify that not only are we in agreement with the Minehead Development Trust and their efforts to revive the site to the benefit the community, but we are in fact absolutely 100 per cent behind, fully supportive and actively working in partnership with the trust to develop the exciting plans currently being distilled to capitalise on all that this historic building has to offer for the community.
Working together with the trust and the local community to help bring this building back to life as a vibrant and exciting centre for Minehead is proving to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience, very much worth the initial “leap of faith” it took to bid at the auction in March – and one which promises to remain good for a very long time to come.
