PEOPLE in Porlock are celebrating the restoration of a vital link to bring their community closer together.
Work to rebuild the bridge between the only two roads serving Hawkcombe - Parsons Street and Doverhay - has just been completed at a cost of £70,000.
And local residents Peter and Margaret Harris and Ann and Norman Weaver organised a special party to mark its reopening.
Around 30 people turned out to toast the occasion.

Local county councillor Frances Nicholson said the local community and Porlock Parish Council had been extremely understanding.
"They have helped the county council to get the job done right with a combination of patience, helpful observations and advice.
"The new bridge has been designed to the best current standards, which means it should last for at least 120 years."
