THE Porlock Santa festival continues on Saturday (December 13) with late night shopping and entertainment in the village centre, and a late night Santa dash.

The organisers are hoping for a record number of Santas this year, who will run through the village High Street from the Doverhay car park, starting at 8 pm.

The dash finishes in the Top Ship, where in lieu of prizes all the runners will receive a free drink.

A spokesperson said: “We hope that you will be able to join in the fun and frolics of the evening and be one of the Santas.

“Just turn up in your Santa suit by the car park at about 7.50 pm to sign in.”

The spokesperson said Santa marshals were also needed to help manage the dash route and anybody interested should email [email protected] or [email protected].

The Santa dash is part of a variety of festive activities in Porlock on Saturday evening, starting with schoolchildren singing carols at 4.30 pm outside St Dubricius Church, where a Christmas tree festival is being held.

There will also be carol singing in Dovery Manor Museum at 5.30 pm, with face painting and the ‘real’ Santa meeting children in the Old School Centre from 5 pm.

A brass band and musicians and street entertainers will mingle with the crowds during the evening, and Richard Little Butchers will provide a pig roast.

There will be free car parking for the event.
