ST Audries WI’s skittle team won the Somerset County WI Champions Cup at the Sexeys Arms Inn in Blackford. The runners-up were Buckland Dinham WI in a hard-fought and very close final.

The tournament began last September, with 50 teams taking part in the knockout competition and St Audries winning their way through to the last two.

County WI chairman Julia Statton presented the cup to Daphne Yeomans, the St Audries captain, and both teams then enjoyed a supper arranged by Trish Williams, the WI county skittles organiser.
